Every Chesterfields Direct sofa, chair, and footstool comes with two separate guarantees — a 12-month comprehensive warranty on materials and workmanship, and an extended 5-year structural guarantee on the hardwood frame. We back what we make because we know how it is made.

Structural Frame Guarantee
Hardwood frame guarantee
The structural hardwood frame of every piece we make is guaranteed for five years against manufacturing defects and structural failure under normal domestic use. A well-made frame is built to outlast upholstery — ours is built to last decades.

Upholstery & materials guarantee
All materials and workmanship — including leather panels, stitching, foam fillings, and studwork — are guaranteed for 12 months from the date of delivery. If something is not right, our aftercare team will resolve it.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
Does the guarantee cover commercial use?
Our standard guarantee covers domestic use. If you have purchased furniture for a commercial setting — hotel, office, restaurant — please contact us to discuss appropriate terms. We regularly supply commercial clients and can advise on the right approach for your order.
Are natural leather markings covered by the guarantee?
No. Natural leather characteristics — including grain variation, natural markings, and the way genuine leather ages and develops a patina over time — are not defects. They are the qualities that make real leather worth owning. We strongly recommend ordering
free samples before purchase so you are fully confident in your choice.
What if my furniture arrives damaged?
Please inspect your furniture carefully at the point of delivery. If damage is visible, inform the delivery team before they leave and note it on the delivery paperwork. Then contact us as soon as possible with photographs and your order number. Damage noted at delivery is treated as a priority and resolved promptly.
Can I get my furniture re-upholstered after the guarantee period?
Because we manufacture everything ourselves, we are well placed to advise on re-upholstery options for pieces we have made. Contact us to discuss — a well-made frame can support a full re-upholster and give your furniture another generation of life.
How do I care for my leather furniture?
Day-to-day care is simple — dust with a soft dry cloth and wipe light marks with a slightly damp cloth. Avoid alcohol-based or harsh cleaning products. Apply a quality leather conditioner a few times a year. Keep furniture away from direct heat sources and prolonged direct sunlight. Proper care helps maintain your leather and protect your guarantee.
Does the guarantee transfer if I sell the furniture?
No. Our guarantees are non-transferable and apply to the original purchaser only, for domestic use in the United Kingdom. They cannot be passed on to a new owner if the furniture is resold or gifted.
