Chesterfields Direct was founded in Rochdale, Lancashire in 1980 with a straightforward purpose: to make genuinely well-built leather furniture and supply it directly to the people who would live with it every day.
In 2025 we moved to a new workshop in Blackburn — more space, the same team, and the same commitment to making things properly. Over four decades on, nothing fundamental has changed. Our furniture is still made by hand by craftspeople who take real pride in what they produce. The materials are still chosen for quality and longevity, not cost.

Handmade to order — no compromises
Every piece we make is built to your specification — your chosen leather, colour, and configuration. We use solid hardwood frames, traditional hand-tied springing where appropriate, and premium hides selected for their grain, character, and durability.
Because we manufacture everything ourselves, we can accommodate bespoke requirements — adjusted dimensions, custom configurations, and large-scale commercial commissions. Our most ambitious project to date was an 11-metre Chesterfield, one of the longest ever made.

Standard sizes are a starting point. We can adjust dimensions, change configurations, and take on commercial commissions of any scale.
