Bespoke & Made-to-Order Items
All Chesterfields Direct furniture is handcrafted to order in our Blackburn, Lancashire workshop. Because each piece is made specifically for you — in your chosen leather, colour, and configuration — we are unable to accept returns on bespoke or made-to-order items unless the goods are faulty or damaged upon arrival.
This is consistent with your rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, which exempt made-to-order and custom goods from the standard 14-day cooling-off period.
Ready-Made & Stock Items
If you have purchased a ready-made item from our sale collection, you may request a return within 14 days of delivery, provided:
- The item is unused and in its original condition
- You contact us within 14 days of the delivery date
- Return delivery costs are met by the customer

Faulty or Damaged Goods
In the unlikely event that your furniture arrives damaged or develops a fault, please follow these steps:
- Inspect your furniture carefully at the point of delivery.
- If damage is visible, inform the delivery team before they leave and note it on the delivery paperwork.
- Contact us as soon as possible with photographs and a description of the issue.
We will arrange repair, replacement, or an appropriate remedy in line with your statutory rights. All furniture is covered by:
Structural guarantee covering the hardwood frame against manufacturing defects.
Covers workmanship and materials. Excludes accidental damage or misuse.

Cancellations
If you wish to cancel a bespoke or made-to-order item, please email us as soon as possible after placing your order. Once production has commenced we may be unable to cancel or refund in full, though we will always try to accommodate cancellation requests made promptly.
Your Statutory Rights
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law. If you have a concern about a purchase, please contact us in the first instance and we will do our best to resolve it fairly and promptly.
