The Slipper Chair

The Slipper Rocking Chair is one of our most distinctive pieces — a classic English occasional chair that pairs the gentle motion of a traditional rocker with the deep buttoned elegance of genuine leather upholstery. Handmade at our workshop in Blackburn, Lancashire, every chair is built to the same exacting standard as our full Chesterfield range.

Two ways to sit

The Slipper is available as a rocking chair with a smooth tilt action, or as a stand chair with a fixed hardwood base for greater stability. Both versions are made to exactly the same specification — the choice simply comes down to how you like to sit.

Handmade in Lancashire

The exposed hardwood frame is hand-finished and available in a choice of wood stains including mahogany, yew, light oak, medium oak, and dark oak — allowing you to coordinate with your existing furniture. The high back and seat are deep buttoned by hand, a traditional technique that gives the chair its characteristic sculptural silhouette and ensures the leather remains taut and well-shaped over time.

Choose your leather

The Slipper is available across our full leather range. Our Traditional Antique finish is the most popular choice — a warm two-tone leather with a naturally aged character, available in eight colours. For a cleaner, contemporary look, the Full Grain Windsor range offers a matt plain finish across a wide palette. The Superior Old English is semi-aniline and naturally distressed, while our Vintage leather offers a heavily cracked, weathered finish. Can't decide from a screen?
